The GLO Surface Canopy (GL-D2) is the ceiling-mount electrical connection point for the GLO belt-link lighting system. The power supply is concealed within the canopy body, making it the all-in-one mounting solution for a surface-mounted belt installation. The Surface Canopy attaches directly to the ceiling and connects to the belt. It contains the 48V DC power supply inside its housing — no separate external power supply box is required. The 100W rating supports up to eight 12W GLO fixtures; the 200W rating supports double that. Choose based on the total wattage of all fixtures planned for the circuit. The canopy also serves as the dimming control connection point for the 0-10V dimming signal.

What is the difference between a Surface Canopy and a Remote Surface Canopy for the GLO system?

The Surface Canopy (GL-D2) includes the power supply inside the canopy housing — a self-contained unit. The Remote Surface Canopy (GL-D1) is a feeder-only unit that connects to a separately mounted power supply hidden elsewhere in the ceiling void or nearby. For installations where the power supply needs to be concealed in a remote location, the Remote version is used; for straightforward surface installations, the integrated Surface Canopy is simpler.
