The GLO Remote Surface Canopy (GL-D1) is the feeder-only ceiling connection point for the GLO belt-link lighting system. It mounts on the ceiling surface and connects the belt to a power supply that is mounted separately — typically concealed in the ceiling void, a nearby enclosure, or a remote location not visible in the finished space. The Remote Canopy is specified when the power supply unit needs to be hidden away from the ceiling surface — for instance, when the ceiling is fully plastered flush with no visible housing, or when a single large power supply feeds multiple separate belt circuits from one central location. The canopy itself is a minimal surface-mount connector point with Black finish.

When should I use the Remote Surface Canopy instead of the standard Surface Canopy?

Use the Remote Canopy (GL-D1) when the power supply needs to be positioned away from the ceiling mounting point — hidden in a ceiling void, a cabinet, or behind a false wall. The standard Surface Canopy (GL-D2) contains the power supply inside its body for simpler installations. For technically demanding or concealed installations where the power unit location is specified separately, the Remote Canopy gives that flexibility.
